Default Gabby

Does anyone know what ever happened to Porky's goat friend Gabby?
I think his name was Gabby. Was there ever a reason?

he was very unpopular. I am a fan of him though. They phased him off after I think only three cartoons.

Daffy became a better sidekick for Porky (and later on it was the other way around). Gabby Goat was an annoying character who had a short temper.

Also, it should be remembered that Gabby Goat was more a creation of Ub Iwerks than of the regular Termite Terrace crew, as the Porky/Gabby shorts were in fact farmed out by Leon Schlesinger to Iwerks' studio in its waning days. Certainly, once Iwerks did what he ultimately had to do and returned to Disney, Gabby would not be missed in the least on screen.

Default Slightly OT: Un-Celebrity Un-Deathmatch—Gabby vs. Gabby?

Further, I'd still love to someday see Gabby Goat and Fleischer's Gabby the watchman square off for all time in an animated knock-off of "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" ... a fitting conclusion for both of their stories!
