São Paulo - SP, Brazil, February 23, 2006 (Brazilian Carnival begins tomorrow!).
Hello, Avery Jones and HB-fans from the whole world! I've read about this same article on the Brazilian sites 2Jovem (http://2jovem.com) and Retrô TV (http://retrotv.com.br) and I felt upset about these modifications that will happen on Boomerang Latin America (which also includes Brazil) (http://www.cartoonnetwork.com.br/boomerang or http://www.cartoonnetworkla.com/english/boomerang). This channel will leave aside the wonderful classic cartoons (great part of them was produced by Hanna-Barbera) to give more emphasis to the modernization with a kiddie line-up, on the molds from Nickelodeon (http://www.nick.com). Have mercy, Ted Turner! You ended with the happiness of the HB-fans and the nostalgic friends from the whole world (including this poor mortal one who writes 4 U)! We gonna get orphan of this channel. And here's my deception with these radical changes on the Boomerang line-up, from April to on, represented through from one of the most beloved characters from the studio of William Hanna & Joseph Barbera (smarter than the average bear): THE CLASSICAL CARTOONS HAVE TO BE MANTAINED ON THE BOOMERANG LINE-UP! WE DON'T WANNA SEE THIS CHANNEL LOSING ITS IDENTITY AND ENDING MODERNIZED AS THE OTHER CHANNELS! LONG LIFE TO THE CLASSICAL CARTOONS! Everytime that I talk about the classics from animation, movies, music and TV to my 11-year-old nephew, he figures that the all the classics (on his opinion) suck! He prefers much more the stuff from nowadays. I feel constranged when somebody comes with answers as these. Sometimes, I start thinking that the kids from nowadays see this stuff as if the world got created on the year which they were born (this on their opinions). One day, me and my nephew were watching The Simpsons on Fox Brazil (http://mundofox.com.br). Then, when the interval came, I seized to give a peek on Boomerang, and it was airing an episode from the Yogi Bear classical period. My nephew protested: "Hey, take out from this crappy toon." So, I ask to him: "What do you have to do against the classics from TV?" And him, bad-mooded: "Everything!" Consternating, isn't it? Well, here's my argument. Bye-bye! Cheers from this faithful friend who always writes 4 U, Rodinei Campos da Silveira (from São Paulo, Brazil) Meet me on my e-mails: mailto:rodinei@starmedia.com, mailto:rodineic@excite.com, mailto:rodineisilveira@bol.com.br or mailto:rcsbrasil@mort.zzn.com. You're always wellcome! Boomerang: it isn't all coming back to you anymore. (WILL BE?!!!!) HANNA-BARBERA 4 EVER! (Yesterday, now and ever.) LONG LIFE TO THE CLASSICS! ![]() Attention, HB-fans! The new Hanna-Barbera official site (http://hanna-barbera.com) is on the air now! Enjoy to visit it! LONG LIFE FOR WILLIAM HANNA (Rest in peace) & JOSEPH BARBERA! (They deserve it!)

Too bad. I saw Boomerang LA on satellite TV on a cruise ship last year. It was the only place on TV that I ever saw "Fox and Crow" cartoons.

Too bad that the nowadays kids ignore the hard and great works of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.

![]() I had a smaller version in my avatar on another site. I took it off because it was kind of crass. I brought it back to GAC because, obviously, you've guys been madder at the direction of the network a tad bit longer than I have and you'd get the message. |
