I credit this cartoon as one of a few that jump started the short lived renaissance of animation in the 90's. (Family Dog, Simpsons shorts, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and The Little Mermaid also helped.) However, the show hasn't aged well. The animation was certainly trying to be exaggerated, but the Koreans just couldn't accomplish what the American artists were trying to do.

I get what you're saying, but I should point out that the animation was actually done at Wang Films/Cuckoo's Nest, which is in Taiwan.

Actually, I was quoting a riff from an episode of MST3K (but more than likely, they were referencing Woody Allen).

I remember when this show debuted back when I was a kid. It looked NOTHING like anything else on TV. However, I agree it hasn't aged that well. A bulk of the show is pretty much just the standard 1980's Saturday morning cartoon plots, just animated crazier (lots of 'little kid learns a lesson' episodes). However, I will buy the set because the ones that spoof old Terrytoons are hilarious: "The Ice Goose Cometh", "Still Oily After All These Years", and "Mighty's Wedlock Whimsey". The parody of Alvin and the Chipmunks is also pretty funny.

I don't have the memories to watching this show when it showed in the end-80's because i was so little. I just heard of this show a few years ago by the Web. So yeah, i think it was a big time that this series have a DVD treatment. Hopefully that the Terrytoons franchise got their box-set sooner if sales is good.
