Default Walt Disney Treasures Wave 4 Talkback

I picked up Mickey and Goofy at Target today @ $24.99 each. I ran into the same kind of trouble as I had with the LTGC2 set. I went to Wal-Mart first and they weren't out. I drove into town to Target and they only had one set of each of the three newest releases on the shelf. I grabbed the two I wanted (didn't want Mickey Mouse Club although the Top Cat set was very tempting).

My sets numbered:

Mickey Mouse Volume Two:
037,954 of 175,000

Pluto:
028,629 of 110,000

I have today off work, so Mickey marathon at my house!

Goofy?

I picked up all 3 this morning and have a question... Immediately upon unwrapping and opening up these sets, the back covers which were so cheaply slapped on seemed to have fallen off of every single tin and I am considering picking up some rubber cement and attaching them permanently, but I wanted to ask if you guys think that'd work..?

I'm just concerned because I obviously don't want to make a mess of the tins and have to repurchase them. Would rubber cement stick to the tin casing and would that be a permanent fix?

Any other suggestions to get the back covers to attach permanently to the back of the tins? This is honestly the first wave that has left me dissapointed in any way in regard to these sets. I've never had a single complaint prior but I am really let down that the packaging was thrown together so sloppily. Although it's been reported and was expected, it's still a dissapointment and detracts a lot from what these Treasures represented...

Can't wait to go through the actual content though, I have two exams this week and a ton of assignments to get through but my will power is wearing thin!

Rubber cement would be a bad idea. It wouldn't be permanent (I doubt it would stick to the tin at all) and it would eventually stain the paper a yellowish color.

I get a feeling the cheapness of the packaging has something to do with the departure of Roy Disney. It's just a guess, but I would bet that Eisner is responsible for cutting corners on the new wave sets.

Does it really matter what kind of packaging a DVD set that contains "Mickey's Mellerdrammer" has?

Like Jon, I have to wait for Kris Kringle to bring it to me... Money's too tight this time of year...

Got my Mickey in B&W 2 today. #94234. I've only had time to see the Maltin intro, but things look great so far.

These DVDs are on my Christmas list. Hopefully Santa (or my dad, he has the gut for it ) can get me this.

Xmas is too far away!!

I watched a couple of Mickey shorts From the Vaults. One thing I liked: there is a typical Maltin intro about how these cartoons were made in different times and proper context and the like, but it's an overall intro when you first click on "From the Vaults" that you can skip over on repeated viewings and isn't permanently attached to every single short like on the wartime set.

Also how "Trader Mickey" isn't listed with the "From the Vault" set amazes me. It's listed with the regular shorts.

I only got MMB/W vol.2. The from the vault shorts have forced intros again! I guess a stupid forced intro is a small price to pay for Mickey's Mellowdrama. Also there are no audio clips on the galleries this time and didn't find any Easter Eggs. I wonder what type of cut backs we can expect for wave5?

Thanks for the warning J.J.

Someone on another forum had told me that rubber cement would be the best solution so I'm happy I checked this thread tonight. That would've really frustrated me!
