This sounds fun, and to be honest, in the back of my mind I have always sort of wished DVD companies would do something like this. I love my DVD toon sets, but I really can't pace myself like Saturday mornings would do by design. In otherwords after I watch a set, I feel quite the glutton. A set up like this might help cleanse the pallete. I wish Disney and such might release a similar thing like a Disney Afternoon collection. I have never much thought too highly of H-B, but that is because I have seen very little I think, so this is welcome in that regard as well. But this will solely be purchased for this gang.

Well, at least they've dipped their toe in the water with "Quicks-draw"! I think Babalouie is still the sticking point, but why? Speedy Gonzales proved to be popular among Mexicans contrary to opinions from WB's yes-men.

If I were to buy, I'd only get volume 1 of the '60s. The '70s, I couldn't care less about. Plus all three of its Looney Tunes shorts are already on a Golden Collection, while that isn't the case for every short on the '60s.

There's absolutely no problem with Baba Looey; it's just a matter of Warner not owning all the music rights for the series and being reluctant to pay for them. In this case, obviously, they did.

I hope WB quickly follows this up with an announcement of Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig show sets. A mere five new-to-DVD cartoons doesn't quite cut it. Maybe Jerry Beck will talk about that during his Shokus appearance next week on the 28th.

I'm going to buy them both. This is great. It would be very sad if the Quick Draw, Magilla, Atom Ant and Secret Squirrel segments were just the cartoons and not the whole entire half hour. Also, I'm curious what the featurettes will be on both sets.

ditto.

Hope WHV can stick with the classy art work as of late and whip up some neato vintage packaging for the collection. Looking forward to 'em!

I was actually approached to do commentary/an interview on this set, but after talking with Brad Constantine, we both thought it wasn't worth our time to have me talk about how Hanna Barbera ruined animation in this country. Though he sure didn't tell me that they were putting complete Bugs Bunny Show episodes on it!

I did do an interview for these sets, as did Jerry Beck and Mark Evanier. I was not kind to some of the H-B fare (like f'rinstance "Laugh-o-lympics"), but other things, like Quick Draw, I gushed over. I have no idea what they will use.
