If I am correct on this (I don't remember exactly where I read this): Part of the deal between Paramount and Harvey was that Paramount retained theatrical rights to the cartoons and could still re-release them in theaters (I don't know if they ever actually did do that). Paramount also retained the negatives.
I'm told by a friend who is 10 years older than me (who actually has first-hand recollections of this) that the Harveytoons shown on "Matty's Funday Funnies" (and syndicated later in B&W prints) retained the *Paramount* copyright line on TV prints (even though the Harvey logo itself replaced the Paramount logo footage) but only on color prints (evidently done later) was the copyright line on the actual title card changed to a Harvey copyright. Apparently, these cartoons were shown in Chicago in the early 1960s.
I have some of the Harveytoons in 16mm. Some of them have a Worldvision TV logo at the end, evidently prints struck since the late 1970s.
I have a few of the 1963 Casper shorts, as well as some of the "Modern Madcaps" which were shown on "The New Casper Cartoon Show." What is interesting is that at least one of the Casper shorts I have has an ABC color logo at the beginning; the same friend I mentioned above told me he once saw this "accidentally" left on one of the shorts when it was shown on "Garfield Goose And Friends" in Chicago in the early 1970s. I wonder if this wasn't left on because the cartoons were distributed by ABC Films in the pre-Worldvision days.
Some of the Casper and Modern Madcap shorts I have in 16mm have previews at the end for an upcoming cartoon, as if they are the actual 30-minute "New Casper Cartoon Show" episodes sliced and diced into separate segments. The Modern Madcaps begin with a title card which says "The New Casper Cartoon Show Presents..." and then that cross-fades to the Modern Madcaps title card. Now, this is almost 30 years ago, but for the life of me I cannot remember ever seeing these titles this way when these cartoons were running daily on Channel 32 in Chicago. I could swear (or affirm) that section of the opening titles had the same Harveytoons logo as the other 1950s Harveytoons, with the jack-in-the-box surrounded by Moe Hare, Tommy Tortoise, Buzzy, Katnip, Herman, Spooky, Casper, etc. Or maybe Channel 32 just cut that section off altogether; it's been a long time and after showing them for a few years, Channel 32 chopped *all* the opening and closing titles off of *all* their theatrical cartoons altogether (with the curious exception of Popeye and, later, Mighty Mouse).
Channel 32 used to run the taped Casper Cartoon Show opening and closing, freeze-framing it before the "New Casper Cartoon Show" title appeared and superimposing "Casper" or "Casper The Ghost" (*not* "Casper The Friendly Ghost") along with the station's logo. A mix of 1950s theatrical Harveytoons and 1960s Casper and "Modern Madcaps" were shown. The *full* show opening and closing were used if the show was in a one-hour timeslot, but it was cut down in a half-hour timeslot. They later ran some of the shorts as fillers during the Three Stooges show on Saturday mornings (or Saturday nights even). Around 1991, these old film prints were retrired and Channel 32 started running the syndicated "Casper And Friends" shows with those horrendous re-dubbed versions of the cartoons...although as I recall, after a season or two, the show was revised to feature original soundtracks on the shorts...perhaps someone can confirm this (not the Harveytoon Show on Fox Family).
