Which Of These Beaky Buzzard Shorts Is Your Favorite?
Yep, another forgotten WB star gets his own poll.
|
the clampett ones, where he is still voiced by great kent rogers, expecially the first one!
|
"Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid".
Clampett was the best at the characterization of Beaky. |
Yep! Bugs Bunny Gets The Boid rates number 1 on my list!
|
I voted STRIFE WITH FATHER. I enjoy all the antics with Beaky and his adoptive English sparrow father. I particularly enjoy the ending in which Beaky says "That's no king! That's Monty!"
|
I never saw "The Bashful Buzzard" and "Strife with Father". So I picked "Hold the Lion". Beaky's crazy antics to get lion for dinner. And Bugs makes a cameo!

Great things seem to have been planned for Beaky in the mid-1940s... but I guess they just never bore fruit. WB animation staffers working nights on the comics used him constantly at the time, in a passel of generally very funny stories.
Ah, for the days of Beaky angrily turning down "thet no-good huckster whut tried ta sell me th' Brooklyn Bridge... when I already bought thet bridge last time I came tuh th' city! Th' idea... tryin' tuh sell me m' own property!" |
I went with "Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid":bugs2:
