I'm pretty sure some of you people already know about it, but I thought it deserved it's own thread. Teletoon Retro, a sister channel of Teletoon in Canada will be launched on October 1st 2007. So far the line-up leaves more to be desired, but we have to realize it is just starting up and will hopefully expand in the future.

I heard talking so much about it. But it's just in english for now. Not one in french :(

At last, they are nice to add The Porky Pig Show and Adventure of Rocky and Bullwinkle in their airs. (Still, YTV didn't care of this old shows anymore.)

Any TV station with that much Looney Tunes content can't be all bad.

Hope it gets better distribution in Canada than Boomerang does in the U.S.

An abundance of riches!!! Of course, we can't find that cool a schedule here on American cable/satellite TV!! I don't get Boomerang (which doesn't even show anything good anymore anyway from what I hear) and I won't even bother with Cartoon Network amymore - thank God for vids and DVDs!!

I don't even know if I'll be able to get it since only Bell has it for now with their Express-Vue. I use Videotron and hopefully they'll adopt it sometime later.

I think channels like these are great for people who cannot buy every DVD set they want of cartoons. I'm kind of looking forward to watching the Raccoons again.

Teletoon seems to have some strange fascination with this trainwreck of a show. I haven't had cable for years now but I remember this airing A LOT during late night blocks in the mid-90's. In fact, wasn't Teletoon Retro itself a spinoff of late-night programming? They used to show Looney Tunes, 60's Batman, etc. after 11pm. Than all that stuff went to the French station and they began running lots of newer CN crap and kiddie stuff and that was the last I bothered with the channel.

At least they have Rocket Robin Hood!
Other classic "Canadian" cartoons I grew up with that aren't included are:
- The New Adventures of Pinocchio

- Tales of The Wizard of Oz

- The Mighty Hercules

- Spider-Man

Wow, I grew up on a lot of 60's cartoons! (born in the 70's!)
These shows would play every morning on CKND which is now known as Global...

Good old Canadian Content laws kept those old Rankin-Bass shorts on the air for decades here. Any shows made by Nelvana were also guaranteed to be on forever - like Inspector Gadget, Carebears, Racoons - God, does anyone remember The Toothbrush Family? UGGHH.

It's pretty shameful that The Raccons is still in Canada and the UK and not being shown in the US no more
