This Saturday, the Ohio Theatere here in Columbus will once again have their annual "Saturday Morning Cartoon Capers" as part of CAPA Summer Movies Series. Unfortunately, due to schedualeing, they only had room for one "Cartoon Capers" as the other Saturday morning showing for another film, which is a personal favorite of mine, "The Muppet Movie" on Aug. 18. I don't know all the cartoons that are going to be there but they have a listing of some of the films here: http://www.capa.com/columbus/events/event.php?e=397.

I can't wait for this show!

Woo-hoo! I'm gonna be there! I went to see TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE and "met someone" just before the movie started! Who knew going to a film festival would bring about such good luck? However, I doubt anything like that will happen Saturday morning at a screening of Looney Tunes. BUT maybe I'll meet some other animation fans! :-)

If anyone is going and sees a cute, tanned guy that is well-dressed with a gorgeous smile, come up and say "Hi Chuck!" LOL

Okay, I'm back for this morning coverage for"Cartoon Caper 2007". Today's show was their annual all Warner Bros. cartoon show since these films obviously had the biggest laugh of the program. The most interesting surprise was that this was the first time the program showed a pre-1948 cartoon ("Bugs Bunny Rides Again" and this version had the "namby-pamby" line) in their line-up. This also mainly had cartoon with secondary characters on here which was intresting choice. Anyway, here's the list:

"Beanstalk Bunny" (1955):bugs2: :daffy: :befuddled

"The Bee-Devilled Bruin" (1949)

"Kit for Kat" (1948- BR titles):sylvester :befuddled

"Bugs Bunny Rides Again" (1948):bugs2: :ysam:

"Dr. Jerkyl's Hide" (1954):sylvester

"Knights Must Fall" (1949):bugs2:

"Cat's Bah" (1954) :lepew:

"Mouse Wreckers" (1949)

"Bewitched Bunny" (1954):bugs2:

"Bunny Hugged" (1951):bugs2:

"Gone Batty" (1954)

"Pest For Guests (1955):befuddled

Overall, a nice selection and it's a shame this is the only cartoon show this year. I hope they return to two show next year.
