It's an oldie, but a goodie computer video game that's in its eleventh anniversary and there doesn't seem to be an end of MODs for the original PC first-person shooter, DOOM!
I guess I should have mentioned this earlier, but there ARE Disney AND Looney Tunes MODs for the original DOOM and DOOM II. The trick is getting them to work with your PC, Mac, or Dreamcast! (Yes, there's a way to create a CD-R disc for the Dreamcast videogame system that lets you play Doom on it WITH the MODs. I'm fairly certain that people have found ways to play the original PC version of DOOM on X-Box because like Dreamcast X-Box has a Windows-based operating system. Unlike Dreamcast, X-Boxes have to modchipped or Linux-hacked to play CD-Rs.)
I currently don't have the links to the Disney or Looney Tunes MODs, but they do exist out there. It's a way to pump life back into a game that gets old with the same graphics and noise. Modders of DOOM have cleverly included sound clips from classic cartoons and movies that everybody WILL recognize.
The Disney DOOM mod I find only changes the graphics of the villains and hero in the game. The backgrounds stay the same. Note that the Modders of the Disney Doom got it wrong and replaced Hellwraiths with Sylvester. (Everybody that's a toon fan knows Sylvester is an LT character, NOT Disney!)
The Looney Tunes mod goes a bit further and modifies the backgrounds by replacing textures with classic Looney Tunes production drawings and stills.
In both Mods, the Marine protagonist gets replaced with Marvin the Martian!
(There is a Bugs Bunny DOOM Mod, but it was unfinished by the developer and generally isn't worth downloading.)
There's a new version of Doom for the PC (it's called DOOM Legacy) that builds on the original DOOM with a new 3D-graphics engine and also supports a 3D/polygon Looney Tunes Mod. I'd recommend steering clear of this one since it can be hard enough figuring out how to get Mods to work with the original DOOM! The PC-hacker crowd generally does a lousy job of documenting of how to get a lot of Mods to work well, and some of these guys can be among the smuggest, most arrogant, and antisocial types you'll run across on the web.
