Why were "Sheriff of Bullet Valley" (Set 1) and "Trick or Treat" (Set 2) printed in color, rather than in their original black-and-white art format like the rest of the stories?

This was advertised as an extra feature when the books first came out.
Yeah I saw an ad for it mentioning it. I just wondered why. Was it because of the rarity of those stories (at the time) ? I'd rather have Barks' original art than the gaudy (IMO) color.

At that time the sets were playing around with color. I have the MAD set as well, 4 books in a slip-case that's entirely in color.
