Hey all! Didn't post on the forum for a while so I thought I'll do one now.
A few days ago, I started to have memories when I was a toddler at my grandparent's house watching a PD tape with Pantry Panic:woody: on it. I was really young back then so I didn't get it:confused: , but I still enjoyed watching it.
Anyone else? If you don't have a memory about Pantry Panic, that's fine. You can also post memories about other PD cartoons/tapes, too.
Well, have fun!

I was 5 years old when I saw my first PD tape, Dad dug it out of his collection to show it to me, It was 18 cartoon classics from starmaker video. It started out with "Wolf Wolf" which I found delight at, and I said "This isn't crap at all dad" (yes I said that when I was 5!). I enjoyed Pantry Panic, I used to get hungry watching it. As well as some others like "All This and Rabbit Stew" the black hunter never provoked me at all, I found him funny, he actually reminded me of Stymie off of the rascals which I was enjoying around that time.I also used to wonder until I read it was censored when I was 13, WHY IS THIS GREAT CARTOON NEVER SHOWN ON CARTOON NETWORK?
"Porky's Bear Facts" I used to think was actually well drawn (this was the 1968 redrawn complete with missing doorknobs, bears sliding, etc)! I revisited the cartoon when I was 13 and thought it was sloppy lol.
See, I lost interest in most cartoons when I was 10-13 and then when I revisited them, they were so much cooler than before, since I understand more gags better, and I have become more experianced in animation techniques.

"Pantry Panic" is one of Woody's best. It just gets downplayed because it's been the only Woody short available to people for decades. People have since gotten sick of it, wishing they could see some more Woody.

I remember when I was really young I had a PD tape with Pantry Panic, Casper The Friendly Ghost, Taxi Turvy, Falling Hare, A Little Lulu short, Case Of The Missing Hare, An Itch In Time and Timid Toreador in it's colorized glory. Pantry Panic was pretty cool, my mum might have skipped it a few times on the tape to something less gruesome.
Watching these public domain cartoons restored on DVD is amazing, you wont beleive how much I watch Falling Hare, Case Of The Missing Hare and An Itch In Time on LTGC3.

You've sure got that right!;)
I have another memory: one night when I was about eight or nine, my uncle dropped by for a visit and gave my brother and I a cartoon tape called "Woody Woodpecker and Freinds". It had Pantry Panic, Pigs in a Polka, and Swing Cleaning with Gabby. I liked Pigs in a Polka, I've seen Pantry Panic just too many times, and I thought the Gabby cartoon was from the 50s:shame:!
Well, we gave the tape to charity because it was probably the sloppiest PD tape I've ever seen. But I'll never forget that night...

There's a chance I may have seen Pantry Panic as a kid, but I really can't remember. I definitely remember the first time I saw it on a PD tape in the early 90's though. It was 50 Classic Cartoons from Starmaker and was given to me by a friend. That tape and the beginning of Cartoon Network (when it was mostly classic cartoons) are what started me collecting PD cartoon videos and restarted my interest in classic cartoons again.

I still have that tape. I ordered it through the mail all by myself as a child. It was the first transaction of any kind that I did all by myself. I'm guessing that I was about 11. I sent cash, not knowing any better, and still got the tape. It was then that I saw "Pantry Panic" for the first time too!
