1. Online petitions never work.
2. Cartoon Network hates us.
3. Why watch dubbed, edited, time-compressed cartoons when you can get them uncut, uncompressed, and fully remastered 60 at a time on DVD?

This has been tried before with Popeye...
... Didn't work, either.
Cartoon Network execs are only interested in promoting newer, CN-original shows and Scooby-Doo now.
Jerry Beck has been saying this for years but apparently people have not read his statements on this on his website or in other forums.
Most of the people producing (as opposed to "making") cartoons really aren't fans. It's their job to MAKE money and they don't really care about the artform of animation or older films. If schlop makes them money, they'll go on producing schlop.
The people running CN consider their main audience children and preteens. They frankly are befuddled that anybody over 20 actually cares about the older films...

The spirit of Leon Schlesinger lives on...
Kind of ironic, considering what cartoons we're trying to get them to start showing again.

So you're saying Schlesinger produced schlop? Leon Schlesinger let great artists do great work, he can't be compared to the hacks around today - no matter what Chuck Jones said about him the quality of WB cartoons speak for themselves.

A more accurate figure to use would be Eddie Selzer. :p  :(

Hmm, maybe I should have thought that one over a little longer. But Schlesinger did have that "I don't care what we make as long as I'm rich" attitude.

Actually, I think it's more a case of volume. Back then there was only one Eddie Selzer (at WB anyway) while today there are thousands in the industry. Even if the original Termite Terrace gang was as strong a collective unit as they were back in the day, they'd be fighting tooth & nail to get anything done (most of the time literally).
I think today the animation industry is a dumping ground for producers as punishment for not being able to hack in live action. :p

Or Fred Quimby
Or Fred Quimby
While Fred Quimby had no idea what makes a cartoon good (he didn't like the idea of having a series based on the characters in PUSS GETS THE BOOT because cat-and-mouse cartoons had 'already been done'...), he let his employees work in peace and allowed them to explore their creativity, rather than dismiss their ideas.

I love these cartoons. They give me many good memories of my childhood. The workers at cartoon network saw them as well. They just do not want to show tv shows that don't come straight from them and don't get money from merchendise. They should show these. Ever since October 3,2004,when I saw Looney Tunes for the last time on cartoon network. The problem is that there the only network that has the right to brodcast them. They need to show them or give them to a channel who will take them. Speedy Gonzales,Porky Pig,Bugs Bunny,Daffy Duck,Road Runner,Wild E.Coyote,Claude Cat,Bosko,Buddy,Pepe Le Pu,Owl Jolson,Elmer Fudd,Sylvester, and Tweety were all great charecters and always will be. Tex Avery,Bob Clampet,Mel Blanc,Carl Stalling, and Leon Slesinger all had wonderful ideas and took them an made them into masterpeices. We must respect them. I think this petition was started for a good cause. Cartoon Network Should Bring Back Looney Tunes. :bosko: :bosko: :bugs2: :bugs2: :daffy: :daffy: :tweety: :tweety: :sylvester :sylvester :shame: :shame: :ysam: :ysam: :befuddled :befuddled :speedy: :speedy: :coyote: :coyote: :beepbeep: :beepbeep: :lepew: :lepew: :ham: :ham: :marvin: :marvin: :foggy: :foggy: :coolcat: :coolcat: :sowhite: :sowhite: :dodo: :dodo: :slow: :slow: :buddy: :buddy: :honey: :honey: :bugs1: :bugs1:

Uh, okay..... tell you what...
You go over to the cartoon Network studios, go inside and tell an executive you want Looney Tunes back on TV, if they say yes, and Looney Tunes do come back to TV, I will give YOU a BILLION dollars in cash!
But, knowing CN, they'll probably just "pull an ABC" and say "Looney Tunes isn't off the air. where'd you get that idea from? They're still on. Check your listings!"
Or, they'll "pull a Comedy Central" and just plain say "SO WHAT IF LOONEY TUNES AREN'T ON? DEAL WITH IT! LEAVE US THE HELL ALONE!"

What? What? The LT were on Comedy Central? When was this?LT were never on Comedy Central, but the "leave us the hell alone" attitude was what they presented toward fans of MST3K back when they were airing the series before Comedy Central could not tolerate it anymore, and the show was sold off to the Sci Fi Channel.
and the "pull an ABC" remark refers to how ABC treated the show Whose Line Is It Anyway? before it was finally yanked off the air a few months ago.

Giving capitalism a very bad name. Proof that despite the election, hydrogen, and stupidity reign supreme here in the good old U. S. of A. You want Duffy Fries with that?
