The one and only thing that is keeping me from embracing the next Looney Tunes collection with completely open arms is the fact that on the first set, some of the soundtracks were slightly messed up. The music on some cartoons either sounded too slow ("Kit for Cat", "High-Diving Hare"), too fast ("Awful Orphan"), or was incorrect in some way (the later opening music on "Canned Feud"). Is there any way to know that the cartoons on this set will be at their correct tempo, especially because of all the newly restored pre-48s and the presence of "A Bear for Punishment", which has always played on CN with the incorrect opening theme.

It would be nice if the cartoons are restored a little better. (I'm not saying that the original restorations weren't excelent) Cartoons with bright colours, such as "Dough For The Do-Do" and "Bugs Bunny Get's The Boid", were perfect, but the ones with darker backgrounds, like "Scaredy Cat" and "High Diving Hare" had noticable dust (presumely trapped under the cels or the camera lens). I don't mind some dust, but it would be nice if WB cleaned some off (I can imagine "Back Alley Op-Roar" being a bit dusty). :sowhite:

According to Jerry Beck, the restoration was done this way intentionally so as to most accurately reflect the condition that these shorts were originally viewed in in the theatres.

I do agree that the dust on High Diving Hare was very noticable in some of the scenes (particularly with the black backgrounds).

In my experience, "Awful Orphan" are too slow like "High Diving Hare", "Kit for Cat" and a few others. I think for the next Looney Tunes collection, that include just correct speed.

In french soundtrak in the wave 1, "Canned Feud" are the correct LT's opening.

Also in my experience, "High Diving Hare" are incorrect music theme on TV but correct in the DVD set, but i never know for "Bear for Punishment", i not CN

Yeah, some are faded and probably unrestored, but oh well. Sounds like a rip-off of our old friends, public domain.
