This may seem like kind of a silly question (but then, there are no silly questions, only silly answers:D ) but... was Warner Brothers the only cartoon studio to frequently use nitroglycerin as an explosive in their cartoon shorts?

Pretty much all other cartoon studios frequently used dynamite and even hand grenades as explosives (even Disney used a hand grenade scene in "Teachers are People") but I can't think of another cartoon studio in which nitro was used. To wit; for example, the scene in "Operation Rabbit" where Wile E. tries to catch Bugs with nitro-laced carrots, the scene in "Tortilla Flaps" where El Vulturo tries to catch Speedy with a nitroglycerin booby-trapped cup-and-ball game, Daffy drinks some in "Show Biz Bugs", the climactic scene in "Mouse Mazurka", etc.

Does anyone know of other examples of this liquid explosive being used in classic animation?

Wasn't nitroglycerin used in a Tom & Jerry cartoon, or am I imagining that?

Tweety's S.O.S. has an example in which Sylvester drinks nitro, then tries to blast Tweety with explosive regurgitations. Note the Syrup of Ipecac in the same medicine cabinet as the nitro.

It was used in the HB Snagglepuss cartoon "Lion's Share Sheriff" (written by Michael Maltese).

It is used in Hull of a Mess when Bluto fills the champagne bottle with nitroglycerin to destroy Popeye's ship.

Another WB example - the little woodpecker drops a bottle on Dodsworth's head in "A Peck 'o Trouble".

Didn't the fox in Curtain Razor also drink nitroglycerine during his "Big Act"?

The Missing Mouse involves a white lab mouse drinking *some* kind of explosive substance, although I don't know that it was actually specified as nitro.

It wasn't nitro. It was a "new secret explosive that could blow up an entire city!". They didn't specify any of the ingredients; the more it's left to our imagination, the more fun it is!!! :p ;)

You know, it's interesting that nitro glyercin also has medical useage besides explosive useage.
