While flipping through my Sky TV guide and going to All Channels I discovered a channel devoted to Public Domain content, they show old TV shows especially Bonanza and seem to be trying to gain a younger (or older) audience by airing PD cartoons, haven't actually seen the show, but the programme synopsis says it may be a Popeye only show. Anyone seen this?

They must be showing the 50s famous studios cartoons or the three colour Fleichers.

It's probably that show that used to air on TCC (The Children's Channel uk) years ago called Cartoon Classics. It only played PD cartoons, mostly Popeye but not only. If this is the case, I WILL be getting that channel so any further information would be just ripping!
I do remember CARTOON CLASSICS, since a fellow cartoonophile of mine had satellite T.V. and, since he was able to receive The Children´s Channel, usually taped that show. It featured indeed only PD cartoons, but of a wide variety: Fleischer & Famous Popeyes, early Noveltoons, Betty Boops, stuff from Iwerks & Van Beuren, etc. Once in a while it even aired some rarities such as Ted Esbaugh´s THE SNOWMAN (in a b/w copy). TCC also used to air some cult series of the 60´s such as Roger Ramjet, Cool McCool, Batfink, King Leonardo (plus other Total T.V. segments) and Dodo the Kid from Outer Space. Unfortunately, it later dropped all that stuff to make way for newer material, only to close down in 1998.

Cartoon Classics has changed it's name to "Popeye" now.
A Cartoon show is on Open Access around 7:30am. which is another Sky channel, not sure what they are showing though.
