Teletoon is currently airing reruns of The Flintstones, with season one's original openning and closing credit scenes. The instramental tune played is apparently called"Rise And Shine".I've heard that the new DVD set is supposed to include these credits for season one.But I managed to get them cheaper,by taping it off the TV.This was my very first time actually seeing these original credits. In syndication, they had been replaced by the much more familiar"Meet The Flintstones"credits before I was born.So this was a treat for me!:)

In the Cogeco TV guide, that's announced for tonight on Teletoon the 1961's episode "Alvin Brickrock Presents". How airing this episode?

And me. :D Hoyt Curtin's rendition of "Rise and Shine" sounds great, and the animation is good. The prints look like new.

That should have the early bumpers.

Yeah. I've seen the original opening before on "Cartoon Network," so it has been quite a few years since that was restored.

Are you referring to the Winston ending? They're airing that on Teletoon?

Sorry, no cigs. The camera pulls back from a yelling Fred (who's locked out) to show neighbours' lights coming on.

They've also cut Fred covering the birdcage and putting out the milk bottles. In fact, each episode has a few minutes cut from it. Some have cuts made at the end -- for instance, the episode "The Hot Piano" ends with the "You play with a hot piano, you get your fingers burned" "Yeah, all 88 of them!" exchange.

And, by the way, lest anyone think these are the "Original" credits, perhaps a reminder is in order. After many years of searching, they found color, sponsor-less prints of the "Rise and Shine" opening and closing... but the closing sequence was sans credits, so they were recreated.
