I like many of Bill Plympton's cartoons. I'm not a fan of his feature animation. In my opinion, his inventive, surrealistic humor well matched with short cartoons, but not with feature-length animanition.

First Plympton cartoon I saw was Your Face. I enjoyed that short very much. Sometimes image is grotesque but his unusual sense of humor is really incredible.

Then, I saw 25 Ways to Quit Smoking. This is my favorite Plympton cartoon. Actually it's one of my favorite cartoons of all time.

Every time I saw Avery's cartoons , I thought myself - I can't wait. What will Avery bring out next scene - like this. Sometimes I feel same feelings during saw Plympton's cartoons.

25 Ways to Quit Smoking is a best example of that kind of feeling. 25 inventive, incredibly surrealistic Ways to Quit Smoking is really funny and incredibly well-constructed. From opening gag to the last punchline, it's really brilliantly well made short. I'm surprised this short is not nominated Oscars. In my opinion, 25 Ways to Quit Smoking is a best Plympton cartoon and better than Oscar nominated Your Face.

- Here are some spoilers -

Who could ever forget that Sumo wrestler falling from the sky, and his re-appearance in final scene. What about tobacco eating beatle gag, and man's face after he saw his own lungs.
Yes, maybe some image is grotesque, but Plympton's incredible sense of humor is really one of a kind. And, I hope he made more funny, inventive short cartoons. Any fan of Bill Plympton's cartoons? If so, what's your favorite Plympton cartoon? Please let me know, thanks.
