The Tom & Jerry set has an ad that offers customers $10 off if you buy two WB classic cartoon DVDs, and $15 off if you buy three of them. It's illustrated with a nice piece of clipart based on the cover of BUGS BUNNY'S VACATION FUNNIES #1.

Now the question is, why couldn't stuff like this be used on the Golden Collection menus?!

Wow, very nice!

Is that located on the actual menu screen of one of the discs or a paper ad/insert?

It's an insert with instructions of how to get your rebate on the back of it.

Oh, so they're calling the hacked version of the GC "The Spotlight Collection" going forward...that explains why it is "Vol 1" but it corresponds to (presumably) "GC Vol 2". That'll make things nice and confusing down the road. Though, I guess they realized it would be kind of stupid to call something "Premiere Collection Vol 2" considering "premiere" means "first" :D

So now we'll have to straighten newbies out about the differences between Golden Collections, Premiere Collections and Spotlight Collections.

Not to mention:

Golden Age of Looney Tunes (Laserdisc, 5 volumes @ 5 disks each)
vs.
Looney Tunes Collector's edition (VHS, 10? volumes)
vs.
Looney Tunes Golden Collection (multiple volumes @ 4 DVDs each)
vs.
Looney Tunes Premiere Collection (1 volume @ 2 DVDs)
vs.
Looney Tunes Spotlight Collection (multiple volumes @ 2 DVDs each)

Regards,
Jeff

I noticed your plug for "Daffy for President" in your signature, and you may already know this but I thought I would mention, that the four-minute short is apparently viewable right now on 'Yahoo Movies'.

I really don't know how to navigate to that site but I saw the short running on a computer at work on Friday and asked where they had found it.

I might also mention that Warner Bros. threw a big fancy party/publicity event on Wednesday to get the word out about the inclusion of "Daffy for President" on the DVD release next Tuesday. Chuck Jones' daughter and granddaughter, Mike Maltese's family and other luminaries were there. There was lots of food and drink, the 'walk-around suit' Looney Tunes characters, and everyone got a bag full of goodies that included a stuffed Daffy and the new DVD.
