I read Ain't That Ducky-themed thread. That cartoon is one of my favorite Freleng cartoons. Friz Freleng made many well known classics, but in my opinion some of his lesser known cartoons are also deserved classic status. Here are five examples I could pick of Freleng's great filmography. These are very funny, fast paced and inventive cartoons. Choose your favorite underrated, lesser known Freleng cartoon from my five pick shorts.

Well, I haven't seen much of the mentioned 'toons here, but my vote goes for "Stage Door Cartoon". A rather good Bugs/Elmer Cartoon with some hilarious twists and turns in the theatre, espicially the end gag.
What really got me throughout this was the scene when enterting the theatre. Bug's voice here always make me chuckle:
ELMER: Which way did he go? Which way did he go?
BUGS: HERE I AM!!
I was told "Hollywood Daffy" is really a Hawley Pratt directed film because Friz refused to direct it (which is why his name is not on it).

"Stage Door Cartoon" definitely gets my vote.
Friz, not feeling that Elmer was a strong enough opponent for Bugs, seldom used him as such but this is one of the few shorts in which he did pit Elmer against Bugs and the results are hilarious.
I love the bit with Elmer hiding inside the piano only for Bugs to starting playing and knocking Elmer to and fro with the hammers. And that ending with the pint-sized redneck sheriff who tries to arrest Elmer for "indecent southern exposure" and then stopping to watch the Bugs Bunny cartoon that starts playing is sheer gold!!!!
Cartoons seldom get better than this.

I always thought Stage Door Cartoon was a masterpiece! And a major one at that!
I don't know if this has been brought up before, but Friz, perhaps because he thought :befuddled wasn't enough of a threat, tried to make him a bit meaner & more dangerous than the other directors did. Elmer gives a Frizzy mean evil teeth-baring grin sometimes, and he usually comes armed against :bugs2: with some sort of new weapon: a fishing pole, army surplus detectors, robots, kitchen cleavers, even an hypnosis book...

Hollywood Daffy is a great cartoon, never understood why it didn't get the hype like other Hollywood parody toons.
