OK, folks, what say we set about showing TCM a loud, proud, and 100% positive united front in the name of keeping this project alive and expanding? After all, it's getting rarer by the day to have such a chance come along.

Right, I want to see this thing become a weekly series...hopefully that will start if "the program takes off" (whatever that means).

I like #3 anyway :D, too bad contents of #1 and #2 are not available (though I did send them an email and asked for it, they didn't send me anything).

I am SO looking forward to January! "Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt" is one of the 12 Missing Hares, and I've never even seen "The Blitz Wolf" or "Life with Feathers" before! Finally, a network that really knows what we want to see! I just hope they start showing this more frequently.

Yeah, I have Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt (Recorded off of Boomerang) but the rest I have not seen yet.

Blitz Wolf? Megadamn. I was just expecting TCM to run through the same rotation of stuff Boomerang and Cartoon Network ran.

How about :

"Cartoons that Fans Want to See" ;)

I don't know if it's supposed to be themed...lessee

"Blitz Wolf" -> first Tex Avery MGM cartoon, is it the first appearance of Wolfy?
"Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt" -> is it the Freleng's first Bugs cartoon?
"Life With Feathers" -> First appearance of Sylvester, was nominated for an Oscar

...dunno....

Maybe what they all have in common if that they were all nominated for Oscars...

What sense does it make to tell what is on in January, but not November or December? I'd hope that the November cartoons would be at least partially Thanksgiving related (Jerky Turkey?) and that the December cartoons would be Christmas related (Plenty choices there.) I'd hope that they make this a weekly show on Saturday mornings for at least an hour eventually. :D

Aren't both CN and TCM owned by Warner Brothers? I wonder if "Cartoon Alley" is a result WB throwing us animation fans a bone after the cancellation of "Looney Tunes" and most classic animation from the Cartoon Network lineup.

Anybody know?

Hey, with the respect TCM has always given to live-action shorts as well as full-length films, if that's a "bone," let me jump for it first!! :D

To answer my own question, Yes CN and TCM are both owned by Time Warner under the Turner Entertainment subsidiary (?). See http://www.cjr.org/tools/owners/timewarner.asp

http://www.cjr.org/tools/owners/ is a very interesting site btw, check out the entry for Disney and the Disney corporation timeline.

** UPDATE **

TCM's theme for November is Clark Gable, hence the selections of cartoons in this month's premiere episode of "Cartoon Alley", starting at 9:30am Eastern on November 6.

TCM CARTOON ALLEY #1
(cartoons with Clark Gable caricatures)

"Coo Coo Nut Groove" (Freleng, 1936)
"Malibu Beach Party" (Freleng, 1940)
"Hollywood Steps Out" (Avery, 1941)
Hopefully, Malibu Beach Party will be uncut.

Next month's TCM theme is James Stewart, so lets see what they choose for the next episode.

Can't wait to see "Hollywood Steps Out".

It's probably the edited version, though.:(

Clark Gable kissing Groucho Marx at the end is excised on the reissue prints. I'd rather see this one uncut on LTGC Vol. 2.

I think Jerry Said that the Original ending was gone for good (It's the Same thing for the Heckling Hare and You're an Education)

Wait, what's missing from "You're an Education"?
About 45 sec. (67 ft.) total is missing from the reissue print, including a caricature of Hugh Herbert. If/When this cartoon is released on DVD, I hope that at least some of this cartoon can be restored from an archive print or from a collector's print.
