I think anybody who's into classic cartoons would probably get a kick out of this classic adventure game. Has anybody here played it?

I'm not much of a video game person so... no, I've never played the game. I do know where you're coming from, though. I'm quite familiar with Sam & Max and they are quite reminiscent (to a degree anyway) of classic cartoons. They even used to star in a short-lived Saturday morning cartoon (which was made in my native Canada) around 1997 which aired on Fox. It was called "Sam & Max: Freelance Police" and it was, at times, absolutely hilarious! Harvey Atkin, who is an announcer here in Canada and is always heard in ads for Leon's furniture, was the voice of Sam. Robert Tinkler was Max.

I can't believe i know someone else who has played that. When I was four or five years old, me and my babysitter would always play that game. I've beaten that about 5 times. I have not played it in awhile though because my CD got scratched like 7 years ago. Great game though!

Yes, I have. And I love it! :D As I had already said, I've always been a big fan of LucasArts' graphic adventures.

There's actually a new series of Sam and Max adventure games being released right now. The games are being released in various episodes every months until a full season has been released. So far, only Episodes 1 and 2 have been released. Next month, Episode 3 will probably be released. And so on. You can get the demos for Episodes 1 and 2 on 3DGamers.com right now if you're interested.
Have you ever played Grim Fandango? That's probably Lucasarts' best graphical adventure ever.

I got it as part of a set of LucasArts games which I received as a Channukah present when I was around 12 or 13- I gave up on it after a while, though, because I always got stuck halfway through the game and couldn't figure out how to "solve" it, until I downloaded a walk-through file and completed it about two or three years ago- it's a lot of fun to play and very, very funny with a lot of great lines:
"We'll be back here before you can read the Qu'uran."
"Didn't he fight Godzilla?"
"You expect us to go traipsing halfway around the country looking for a soggy Bigfoot?"
"I've never been traipsing before. Does it hurt?"
"Your head is disturbingly disproportionate to your body."
"It's a vocal chord. You'd be amazed how much room they take up."
"You look like a couple of caring, non-litigous mammals."
"I'm thinking of a number between one and ten, and..I don't know why."
"Percent sign, ampersand, dollar sign."
"And colon semi-colon, too!"
"What are you $*#!ing doing?!"
"Swearing in longhand, asterisk-mouth."

Yeah, same here (except for the Channukah part). When the TV series came out, I was disappointed with the voices, particularly Sam's. The guy who did him on the game was a zillion times better in capturing the character, I thought.

Oh, I dunno. I always thought Harvey Atkin made a great Sam. Atkin has such a serious, monotone sounding voice in almost everything he does which is why I always felt him ideal for voicing a hard-boiled gumshoe type character such as Sam.

Any idea who the game Sam was?

The game Sam was voiced by voice actor Bill Farmer (That's right. The guy who is now the official voice of GOOFY for Disney was the voice of Max in the game. That left me completely non-plused). And, just so you know, the game Max was Nick Jameson (one of the top voice actors from the animated sitcom The Critic).
