Hello,
I've never seen this topic discussed on this board (or any other for that matter, so........
Why the unique "S" shield for these cartoons? Other than the infamous "breaking out of chains" drawing from Joe Shuster in, I believe, Superman#1, it had never been drawn that way. For the first few years of the comic it was fairly ill defined, but was always red and yellow. I personally prefer it to the way it's drawn in the comics...it stands out better.
