An interesting observation made from the Toonpedia (http://www.toonopedia.com/daffy.htm) website indicates that Daffy Duck was the only major Looney Tunes character to NOT gain an Oscar nomination, much less a win.
This is really surprising, when you take into consideration A) Daffy's longitude in theatrical cartoons (1937-1968), B) his popularity thru most of that period, and C) his versatility (protagonist, antagonist, happy-go-lucky, down-on-his-luck, star, co-star...).
Any explanation for this? Was it a matter of (poor) taste from the heads at Termite Terrace or the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences?
