Hey Agan,
As I stated in a prevous thread I finaly got digital cable and thus being able to get the boomerang feed since i've gotten it i've noticed that there hasent been any good marathons (aside from the flagstones to the flintsones maration that aired last year) now my question is does that network offer any marathons of the classic bugs and daffy duo (like that of the old cartoon network 'June Bugs') or am I suck with watching an hour block of the crazy duo every day?
Thanks Again

Boomerang hasn't done "June Bugs" in a while, because they recently went through a phase where they tried to do away with all of their classic cartoons in favor of all the contemporary crap that Cartoon Network didn't want anymore. However, they seem to be reverting back to their roots now ("Looney Tunes" have returned to their schedule after a long absence, and shows like "Baby Looney Tunes" and "Pokémon" are gone), so you never know.

I spent 50 or so bucks for contemporary crap! LOL
I noticed that Toonheads has been pulled (although the pgm guide still lists it) in favor of jonny quest/flintstones anybody here know if Toonheads will return?
Finaly because I just got digital cable thus the boomerang feed do thay still edit/compress the shorts like cartoon network did or do thay leave them uncut (being that thay are a digital premium feed)?
Thanks again!

Currently they only air the pre-48 Warner Bros. cartoons that are a part of Turner Entertainment holdings and they are the same "dubbed" prints that aired on Cartoon Network.
Toon Heads was actually replaced by The Popeye Show at 2AM (DirecTV on air guide lists it as Pink Panther for some odd reason). They aired the same 25 episodes for months. Probably bring it back once they've rotated through The Popeye Show a few times.

Hmm I thought that Turner had rights to all of the MM and LT Shorts...so whom now owns the rights to the post 48's?

Warners owns the right to all the post-Autumn 1948's and always has. They own all the pre-Autumn '48's through their purchase of Turner (10 years ago). [That was the same way that Warners came to own ALL of the MGM cartoons and the Hanna-Barbera stuff.] They STILL maintain the Turner "brand" for various reasons, and they've left the pre-'48's and MGMs tied to it!

My understanding is that Turner networks now only have the rights to air pre-48 shorts.
My understanding is that Turner networks now only have the rights to air pre-48 shorts.
That now includes EVERYTHING released up to "Scaredy Cat", color or black-and-white. At least that's what they're airing.

OK, now I'm confused. I was always under the impression that Turner owned the rights to EVERY WB cartoon starting around 1998 or so. If so, why are they now only airing the pre-1949 WB shorts? I don't quite understand why they would lose the rights to the post-1948 WB shorts just like that (unless it's to get people more psyched into buying future Golden Collections).
They lost the broadcast rights to those cartoons because they dropped the Warner cartoons from their regular line-up for too long. Their contract might be up too.

Well, that's what happens when you act neglectful toward popular classic cartoons! :p

Sorry, I'm not really getting everything that you guys are saying so...
I thought they stopped airing Looney Tunes?
Are they bringing it back? *as a spark of hope touches my eyes*
I don't have cable but I still get to watch boomerang every now and then. Last I heard, they don't air it anywhere. Woe is me...
I made a thread about boomerang in a different vbulliten forum but nobody posted. *shrugs*

I have 900 channels, but none of them are Boomerang. =( Comcast is great sometimes, but I'm pretty depressed that they don't carry Boomerang.
