This isn't true is it?, I can see Albert's face in the corner of the Porky Pig tape, but this show was made in the 70s, therefore, not old enough for Public Domain, and the tape looks like it was made in the 80s/early 90s, because of it's really ugly art and colours.
Then again, The New Three Stooges is on a lot of PD titles, and I think it's from the 60s.
PS: he looks a bit like a black Peter Griffin (Family Guy).

Where do you see Fat Albert? The photo is too dark to see anything.
Regardless, one should never buy any VHS tapes or DVDs on Ebay. 99% of the time, they're all fakes.

I doubt it's THAT bad. While I am sure you can find a good number of fakes on eBay, they are pretty easy to spot and avoid. You just have to use common sense. I would bet the legitimate sellers outnumber the bootleggers on eBay.
As for "Fat Albert" showing up on what looks like PD collection, it appears the tape was released by UAV. UAV released a number of official Fat Albert tapes which around 1989-1990. They also released a lot of public domain cartoon tapes. It seems they decided to throw Albert onto that collection of PD fare to help sell it. They did the same with at least one "Underdog" cartoon collection (including a 4-part Underdog story on the same tape as a bunch of misc. PD shorts) during a period when they were also releasing a number of authentic Total TV VHS collections.

I remember those videos too. There were standalone Fat Albert videos sold that were one episode per tape, but the episodes were from the syndicated 1984 series as opposed to the 70's Saturday Morning originals. Usually I wouldn't recommend getting them quality-wise (EP or LP was the speed of choice for companies like UAV).

Isn't the original Fat Albert special from 4 or 5 years before the '72 series debut, PD? And didn't the Hubley's have alot to do with it?

Careful with that blanket statement, there are so many things available on ebay that you cannot get elsewhere, not currently in print -- that are better quality than past legit versions. Fake makes me think of it being a different version entirely than what you believe you're buying-- like a Czech produced "Aladdin" decades old, as opposed to the Disney feature--even though cover graphics suggest differently. Just because something's licensed, it doesn't insure good quality. I fervantly disagree, because, Ray Pointer's restored stuff is beautiful-- but PD, not licensed, but I would not call anything he produces as "fake". On ebay, I've bought great stuff 75% of the time, so-so stuff 20%, crap 5%. I'll take a chance when I can't find it elsewhere.
My opinion:
Buyer Beware, but not Ignore-check the sellers feedback before buying media on ebay, but if it's all good feedback, buy with confidence. I have no sympathy for companies that don't issue dvds of series that there's a demand for.

That's completely false. Besides, how can there be a fake public domain video? eBay is a good source for material that you can't find anywhere else.......fake or not.

You're thinking of the one done by Ken Mundie back around '69, but yes, that would be the first time Fat Albert would to adapted into animation. There's info about this over at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat_Albert_and_the_Cosby_Kids).

Yo-Toledo, It's really dark compared to the Filmation series--and artistically beautiful and almost UPA stylistically, I wonder if it's available online?

I wish I had it personally.
