Just a little question to all you GACers about the earlier of the lions that starred as the MGM logo.
I recently read the Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_the_Lion_(MGM)) article (very informative). But I remember hearing as a child, and seeing on a website here and there, that one of the lions was starved to death... and that the first one, Slats, killed his trainer and two assistants!
Yet another account says Slats and his trainer were inseperable.
Neither of those things is mentioned in the Wikipedia article.
I'm curious as to what is fact or fiction in all of those stories. Was it another one of the lions besides Slats that did in his own trainer, or was that a myth made up years later?
(Also, on a side note...was anyone else spooked by the lion as a kid? When I was a girl Tanner, the 40's lion seen in most Tom and Jerry shorts, scared the daylights out of me!)
