Could somebody please post screen shots of this cartoon? I'm interested in seeing how Buddy and Cookie look colorized (let alone as mermaids).

Marty~
They look just like themselves, only in color and semi-piscatorial form. Face and upper bodies, all nice and Anglo-pink:p
(The topless adult mermaids at the start of the cartoon ARE unique:p;))

Rowr...
Good Buddy cartoon... even features a trombone gobble.

In my opinion, Friz did the best Buddy cartoons and this is no exception(even though this is the only one I truely seen)!:buddy:

How can you form an opinion on cartoons you haven't seen?
Is there any proof that the characters in this are Buddy and Cookie? I know they look similar enough, but you could also say these characters look like a generic boy and girl ...

By reading the plot. But I guess that isn't saying much, so ignore my post.

Which is part of the reason why I'm interested in seeing screenshots.

Jeff and all~
It's funny, I'd seen this cartoon all my life, and never actually connected Buddy and Cookie with "Mr. And Mrs. Is The Name" till years and years later.
Redesigning accepted, existing characters:buddy: into the mer-people though was easier than trying to create wholly new ones for this one-shot.

Here ya go Marty! Jest a few to images from one of the better early color Merrie Melodies! Always liked the beginning of this film, probably the first instance of a Schlesinger cartoon production actually gettiing "arty". The rest is standard boy rescues girl schtick...

That's my feeling. After all, last I checked, Buddy wasn't a mer-man.
