Which studio made the short theater film with the animated dancing snacks that sang, "Let's all go to the lobby"? Was it Warners? The animation looks like Chuck Jones's unit, and the song was sung by the Sportsmen Quartet a group heard singing on several WB cartoons.

That was done at Filmack in Chicago.

Hehe I love that short. As a kid I always wondered why those dancing snacks were so happy that they were going to be eaten.

It's listed in my 1955 Filmack catalog. Filmack is also responsible for the classic Hot Dog and Bun clock shell made famous by the movie Grease.

Filmmack made ads for many years specifically for Drive in Theatres- there were several companies in Chicago that produced similar shorts. One of the companies (Kling productions) did a whole series of ads that look a lot like Famous studios character designs (and many were actually animated in LA, or at least some of the animation was- Kiling had an office there, too- some animators must have moonlighted there).
Years back when we used to shoot animation on cels in 35mm we were shooting on a stand that reportedly shot the 'Let's go out to the Lobby' Spot at Filmmack. Ironically, we (Thunderbean) shot a policy preview on that stand in 1995...

Isn't Let's All Go to The Lobby on DVD? I think there's a DVD collection that has theater commercials from the '30s to the '50s. Sort of a precursor to modern-day TV commercials.

There's probably been several. Something Weird Video (http://www.somethingweird.com/) has offered video tapes of intermission reel material for years as well.

Seems to be several other copies on YouTube as well, and most seem to have came from a Quicktime that was up on Filmack's site (http://www.filmack.com/) anyway. Rather just go there for a 35mm print if I'm that desperate! :p

I've got beautiful 16mm reductions of both "Let'a All Go To The Lobby" and the 10 minute clock shell with the Hot Dog and the Bun.
Something Weird Video sells 2 hour compilations of Drive In spots.

Derek Maxwell sells DVDs of rare Drive In clock shells.
