I do not remember watching "King Leonardo" when I was growing up. For some reason I missed it. However, I set up my DVR to record "Tennessee Tuxedo" off of BFC and instead it was "King Leonardo." I have enjoyed watching it. My two boys, ages seven and six, also have been enjoying watching the shows as well. I really like how they have included the show bumpers and original opens and closes. It's a good show and I'm looking forward to seeing more of it. I told my boys that with school starting next week that I could record their favorite morning TV shows and they could watch them when they got home from school. "King Leonardo" was number one on their list.

I vividly remember watching KING LEONARDO & HIS SHORT SUBJECTS when it
first aired on NBC (it debuted on Oct. 15, 1960; I was 13 at the time). It
replaced THE RUFF & REDDY SHOW and followed THE SHARI LEWIS SHOW
(which had recently replaced the long-running HOWDY DOODY SHOW). It is
interesting to note that the Columbia shorts (Fox & the Crow, etc.) that had
previously aired in the middle of RUFF & REDDY in the same time slot (10:30-11:00 A.M, ET) continued airing in the middle of KING LEONARDO for
several weeks (or months); sandwiched in between a King & Odie episode
and (on alternate weeks) either The Hunter or Tooter Turtle. Later, they
were dropped and they began showing a complete 2-part King & Odie cartoon
along with both The Hunter and Tooter every week.

I have a couple of shows like that on tape. They were released on VHS by Ira H. Gallen's "Video Resources" some time in the 1980s. Lenburg's book mistakenly lists a couple Columbia cartoons in place of King & Odie segments, and as it turns out, those are the ones in these shows. The two shows have commercials for General Mills and P.F. Flyers. "Twinkles" segments appear too. Some of the interstitials are different, and I believe the usual segment intros, at least for Tooter and I think The Hunter too, are replaced by connecting segments with them interacting with the King and Odie.

This version of the show being aired on BFC is pretty much the same as the one Channel 50 in Chicago used to show in the 1980s, except they've dropped the Tooter intro. They only show one actual interstitial segment, and it's the same one every day (the King's new TV set is suctioned to the ceiling and it falls on his head) but it's something. I find it interesting that none of the cartoons seem to follow any sequence at all; it appears to be completely random. This makes it difficult to compile an episode guide in the proper sequence.

I'm a little annoyed with the constant repeats, but I'll take what I can get.

Can anyone jump in with info on what they aired the couple days I missed?
