I am puzzled by this http://cgi.ebay.ca/Whats-New-Mr-Magoo-3-Disc-Set-Jim-Backus-NEW-DVD_W0QQitemZ230013580440QQihZ013QQcategoryZ2291QQ ssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosti ng
It says Yet to Be Released, but does that mean it is in the works or what? That set doesn't look like it was made on the computer

It's a DVD that is compatible with players made for the Australian and New Zealand markets (region 4). It won't play on machines sold in North America region 1). I've heard of Region Free players that will play everything. I've seen a DVD version of The Six Million Dollar Man for sale on Amazon.co.uk that is an official Universal release but won't play here.

I looked at the above web-page. Near the top it states region 4 but lower it states region code 1-6 ???? ) It probably is PAL which can be read on your PC provided that the region code is indeed 1-6. I'd suggest you sending an email to them IF you are interested. It seems to me there are GACers from down under who could also help.

If you mean the early 60s ones which start off with Magoo driving through a barn and an electrical facility, neither. This is a much later show done by DePatie-Freleng around 1977 or so. Episodes of this series have been on VHS in the past and around 1990, USA was running a Mr. Magoo show, whih combined these cartoons with the UPA TV package and the "Famous Adventures."
So what's the deal with Magoo on DVD in the USA? It seems I remember variously hearing that the early 60s UPA TV shorts were coming out in a set (which has been postponed), and I seem to remember the "Famous Adventures" and "What's New Mr. Magoo" also having been announced, but I really haven't kept up on this. I know "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" has been released on DVD a couple of times in a couple different variations (as I recall) but is there anything else as of yet?

"Uncle Sam Magoo"(from 1970, I believe) was recently released on DVD by Classic Media.

I believe that this will be coming to the US/Canada from Classic Media in the near future. It indicates on the package that this is a 3-disc set, and we already have 3 individually released titles from this series available on DVD in R1. Unfortunately, this later TV adaptation is pretty horrendous, both in animation and writing/humor (lack of it). I had trouble sitting through a full episode without hitting the fast-forward button. There's very little value here, outside of nostalgia.
I'm not sure the status of the previously postponed set but I'm sure that will be released in due time as well.
The plan is to get all of the Magoo properties under license out on DVD, including eventually, Famous Adventures.
