Yes, it's still percolating. Tom and I are just in the process of blasting out some technical glitches with source material that have plagued us on both ends of the equation for a couple of months. But it will not be stopped.

Now, what is "it"?

What we're now heading for is a series of at least 12 half-hour programs, each containing four cartoons, one of which generally will be a silent short (guess why? ;) ). Also, as a rule, two will be B&W and two in color.

More important, what will make these "episodes" different from, say, Cartoon Junction (which I happily acknowledge as the key inspiration for all of this, back in late '04/early '05), is the inclusion of content-appropriate historical/educational "bumpers" introducing each cartoon. This will make each half-hour not only (dare I say) damned good and entertaining for us GACers, but also highly suitable for nonprofit evening bookings at libraries, schools, houses of worship, and so on. (In deference to Digiview Productions, of course, no oil rigs or prisons are currently under consideration.)

All the better to build the ever-desirable Demographic Base, my friends, and prove to various professional parties Out There that a greater audience does exist for classic theatrical cartoons!

Oh, and we do realize a couple of other obvious possibilities here, but those are best left for farther down the line. :)

Lastly, yes, this series does have its own official name, which burnishes neither the name of Stein nor Stathes, yet envelops us both. And that will be revealed with the completion of Episode #1.

TO BE CONTINUED!

Hey folks...

If you need a hand figuring out any strange technical issues, I'll be glad to help- I've encountered them all at this point in producing dvds of cartoons, and it's been a lot of fun and crazy at the same time! Might be even cool to post some of the solutions in creating content on one fo the forums too, as it relates to animation.... If you're working on getting the stuff to be compression an' web friendly, I've had my share of that stuff recently too...

So noted and appreciated, Steve. We just haven't finished editing our own how-to manual yet. :bosko:

Just to let you know, Geezil, that the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (shameless plug) is hosting a Saturday Morning Cartoons exhibit. If you would like to promote your program to them, just visit their website (you may need to google it as my pitch may sound like advertising  ) and contact them there, unless they already have a full program slated already.

Google it I did, Pete, and it looks like that's going to be a fine event. Thanks for bringing it to my (and our) attention. I'm not so sure that our PD program would dovetail with MoCCA's exhibit in question, though, since the closest we get to television animation history is the very occasional TV print of a theatrical short minus its original credits :( when only that can be found. High fives to MoCCA for honoring the golden American memory of that Saturday morning living room, fondly recalled shows of every kind, and a handy bowl of Sugar Frosted Hyper Missiles(TM) cereal always within reach. :D
