"See Ya Later Gladiator", the last of the original Warner Bros. cartoon to feature both:daffy:and :speedy:, is not so popular. It's so unpupular that most GAC'ers think it's the WORST Warner Bros. theatrical cartoon! I've never seen it so can someone upload this cartoon so I can see how bad it is.:daffy: :speedy: :shame:

I don't think it's the worst WB cartoon. Just the worst Speedy Gonzales cartoon.

I'd say it's certainly a runner up for both (dis)honors. The music is certainly some of the worst I've ever heard in a WB cartoon (even for an Alex Lovy short).

I actually think the end gag was pretty decent for a 1968 cartoon, though the stuff leading up to it was a waste of time. But it also was the final Daffy-Speedy theatrical short released, so obviously, someone at the studio also decided the pairing had pretty much run its course by the time this cartoon came out.

Yeah, someone should upload it. IIRC I saw it as a kid, but don't remember any, so I'm interested in wasting 7 mins of my life.:D

I beg to differ. It would've been a lot better if the scientist simply sent Nero back to 65 AD rather than Speedy having him his band. Plus, when Daffy was walking up to his window, they simply used THE EXACT SAME ANIMATION THEY USED WHEN HE WAS WALKING TO THE SCIENCE LAB'S WINDOW (same background and everything). Talk about a lazy crew of animators.

It's a pretty bad cartoon, yeah. Although I find "Speedy Ghost to Town" to be a lot worse.
I just consider the whole bulk of the post-64 output as one steaming clump, as deciphering which one is worse is like saying which turd is the least repulsive. SOME of them though are better than the last 'official' releases. And at least these had Virgil Ross and Don Williams, which is what none of the revivals can say they have.

One of those Saturday morning packages in the late 70's or early 80's focused heavily on the 1960's cartoons, with lots of the Daffy/Speedys. As bad as they are as individual toons, or how some might be a bit better than others, to me basically ALL 1960's WBs are even worse and totally unwatchable because of this overexposure and repetition and I won't watch any WB toon made after about 1961. Recycled animation, awful backgrounds, lame or recycled plots, recycled or bad music, all add up to a package that isn't worth wasting my time on when there are so many excellent toons, including many b&w toons and other toons which weren't shown at all on tv when I was growing up, even on Channel 5 NY.
While I agree that there were not many good Warner cartoons past 1961, I have to at least say the following make it into the "hit" category...
"Wet Hare" (better than "Bonanza Bunny" anyway)
"Zoom at the Top"
"Claws in the Lease"
"The Unmentionables"
"Transylvania 6-5000"
"To Beep or Not to Beep"
"War and Pieces"
... But that's really it.

To me, the worst WB cartoon is either DEVIL'S FEUD CAKE or FREUDY CAT. As for SEE YA LATER GLADIATOR, it's sub-par. But I do like the green-fire torch, and it was progressive in 1968 to see a Mexican depicted as a scientist--and not dressed in the standard sombrero, white clothes, and sandals.

That's one of the worst ever! There are some funny parts, I'll give it that. But it's really an extra nail WB cartoons didn;t need in their coffin.
