:donald: 's less-than-thrilled reaction to getting a phone call from the Soaky kid makes me laugh.
And here's another Soaky ad that teams Superman up with ... Tennessee Tuxedo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtFJ66-SCHA

Jon thank you so much for finding and posting these as I love Donald!! Seeing him has enriched my day, thanks!
So is this the only time Clarence Nash and Mel Blanc worked together? Nash died before 'Roger Rabbit' right?
Thumbs up to the highest degree!

Porky sounds like a stuttering Secret Squirrel (his voice is too deep). Did they not speed up his voice for this commercial? Or is the voice difference a sign of Mr. Blanc's increasing age?

It is great seeing these!!! The Superman and Tennessee Tuxedo does ring a bell in my noggin (in the area of "memories of sheer strangeness":p). And it's always wonderful to see unearthed Porky footage.
Daff Doc~
I BELIEVE that this was the only time that Mel Blanc and Clarence Nash worked on the same FILM project, though it IS stretching it to say that they worked on it together, no scenes are shared (unlike the Superman and Tennessee Tuxedo Soaky ad:rolleyes: ). And yes, "Ducky Nash" did die before "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", so the Donald performing WITH Mel's Daffy isn't Nash.
However, weird as it sounds there was an instance back in the Forties when Bugs, Donald, and other Disney characters were thrown together.:bugs2:

Yeah, Mel is simply not cranked up to the right speed... It was made back in the Sixties when really and truly Mel wasn't that old.:ham:

Tim, are you talking about that wartime radio show where various cartoon characters made appearances (the one where Goofy is called "Goofy Horsecollar"?)?
Here's the Porky Pig Show theme song... in Spanish: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuvbH_RjbZw :ham:

You can watch the ending here:

It's a treat since it wasn't included on the DVDs.
"more fun than getting dirty" and Porky says that while the Soaky kid is pushing him around in a bathtub while Porky's wearing nothing. Man, I have a dirty mind. I should put some Soaky into it to clean it out.:D:ham: (http://forums.goldenagecartoons.com/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=3#):donald: (http://forums.goldenagecartoons.com/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=3#)

Jon~
Nooooo I wasn't referencing the WWII radio show... Imagine if you will, Bugs:bugs2: as a drill-instructor!!!, over (I'm not making this up) Donald Duck:donald:, Mickey Mouse :mickey:, and Goofy:goof:...:eek::eek: (Oh!!! And a certain Disney lady-character makes an appearance to drive Donald slightly lustful...;)). It was a training booklet made up with the full-cooperation of Leon Schlesinger AND Walt Disney, (and as memory serves me) early in WWII. The artist responsible doesn't ring any bells with me...Bugs' neck is rather long throughout, while the Disney characters appear pretty much on model.
Buuuuut it is so great to SEE Bugs Bunny as being in full command OVER all the Disney characters!!!! :D If Tex Avery ever saw it I bet he burst the buttons off his shirt and coat!!!!;)
[I'd LOVE to imagine that there was a film made to go with the booklet!!:p].
[Really something the two corporations and lawyers would NEVER permit today!]
Here's some other commercials featuring our favourite characters!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwjjnIecOp0
(Woody Woodpecker!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7HZy3__OB0
(the Catoons-Shouldn't-Smoke-Brigade would just love that Popeye guitar!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYZLuOhNUFo
(Bugs Bunny and, uh, the Monkees)
Following up on the collaborative aspect, anyone know who did the animation for the Porky / Donald spot?... each character looks to be very on-model, almost as if each studio provided footage – except that would be overkill for a throwaway Soaky commercial... or would it?
Thanx for posting this long-forgotten little oddity, Jon.

Running neck-and-neck in that area, of course, would be the Dick Tracy and Muskie Soaky commercial as well. (Sorry I'm not yet YouTube-savvy enough to post that one!)

I forgot all about Soaky! (Didn't use it in our house.) But now that I've seen it again, I remember the jingle well.
One thing I wonder though. Tennessee Tuxedo in the commercial doesn't sound like Don Adams, who voiced Tennessee in the cartoon.
