Today, I found some unique finds at Half Price.
First I found a book commerating Mickey Mouse's 50th Birthday. I used to borrow this book at the library several times. Basically, it's mainly full of stills from many shorts and comic strips. The comic strips, unfortunately, are mostly made up of post serial comics (there are some clever Sunday strips. though). However, the book contains the complete Mickey and the Pirates serial from 1934 and excepts from some early Mickey books.

The other finds were two 1987 Hanna-Barbara tapes (1.00 each) from Worldvision that were knock-offs of DTV Music Videos using clips of Hanna-Barbera cartoons, including clips from rarely seen projects. The bad part is that most of the clips were from the mediocre show of the 70s and 80s like The Biskits, The 80s Jetsons (Did like the hilarous take from Mr. Spacely. Was that by JohnK?), Yogi's Gang (The pilot was great. What Happened?), that show where Yogi was in space, Monchhchis (Did this and Biskits even air on Boomerang?), even some Flintstone special where they parodied Kiss! But other than that, they were good. Old Time Rock & Roll, the first tape, contains "Old Time Rock & Roll", "Teddy Bear", "Catch A Wave", "Moster Mash"(There was also a DTV version), "Da Doo Ron Ron", "Please Mr. Postman", "See You Later Aligator", "The Boy from New York City", "I Just Want to Celebrate", and "Rockin Robin". The other tape, Rock 'N Soul, contains "Dancing in the Street", "Get Ready", "I Can't Help Myself", "Money (That's What I Want)", "Superstion", "Baby Love" (I believe there was a DTV version, too), "My Guy", "Hitch Hike", "Reach Out and Touch", and "Sir Duke".

Finally, here are some questions and observations regarding the tapes:
1. Were there any other tapes like this?
2. Strangely, no clips from Ruff and Reddy or The Smurfs (They should've used clips from this show for "Reach Out and Touch", rather than the knock-offs) were used. Any idea why?
3. I spotted a smoking clip that people in UK will rarely see now. It was from the Wally Gator cartoon where Wally gets a wife. Anyone rember how this scene went? I believe I have this from Boomerang, but I don't have the time to look for it.
