here a question that makes you think, after seeing
part of Buckroo bugs on your tube (before deleted)
was red hot ryder a sheriff, deputy, bounty hunter, marshall or rough cowboy?

Ryder had a star in the cartoon so wasnt sure there

Well, at least a couple of Internet synopses of "Buckaroo Bugs" seem to indicate that Red Hot Ryder was based on this dude (http://www.toonopedia.com/redryder.htm). Hope that makes the fuzziness somewhat clearer.

Clampett and writers (Lou Lilly credited) just wanted to create a moronic western do-gooder/marshall as a onetime nemesis for Bugs... And that for sheer parody reasons they latched on to Fred Harman's heroic cowpoke-character name "Red Ryder" to make it all the more ridiculous... AND add to this the factor of the name "Red Hot Ryder" also burlesquing Tex Avery's recent MGM hit "Red Hot Riding Hood":red: and it all starts to make more sense.

(And making the character a marshall of sorts also would've made it harder for Fred Harman or his syndicate to squawk about people actually confusing the characters).

I wwas reading the Red Ryder origins and i guess
Clampett giving Red hot ryder a badge sorta confuzed
me as well as others who see him to be
Sam's ancestor

Was Ryder ever used again, i know not in orginal wb toons but such as TT, Animanacs, or comics?
i was wondering, cause i done research (on finding out if Ryder was a sheriff or some sort of law) and it pops up Ryder was in some comics.
(Red hot Ryder that is)

I always wondered why Clampett and his section gave
Red Hot a star badge and never explained why he had it or you see it pop up and disapear alot (it appears at the end when Bugs tells Ryder he was correct, for a second)
