I hadn't intended to post another round of clips, since I didn't want to hog the board, but I've just discovered a few gems on my old tapes that can't remain hidden. I will post more, but I won't put them on the main thread...keep checking my youtube profile for more clips.

Here's Tom and Jerry! At this point in the 80s, WKBD was mixing other studio cartoons into its "Bugs Bunny" show. The non- Bugs WB shorts were mixed into their own "Daffy Duck and Friends" show, which combined Daffys from both Bugs and Porky packages. As you expected, the time-chopping is a little difficult on a Chuck Jones Tom and Jerry film.

Here is a WKBD clip of The Three Stooges, but there were technical difficulties. There's no sound for the first 40 seconds, then 20 seconds of dead air before the film corrects itself. If you have 20 seconds of spare time, use them now!

This is a commercial promo for Porky Pig and Friends. The WKBD logo shakes at the end when Porky's dynamite explodes. After it is a station jingle and the beginning of "People Are Bunny".

Here's Casper - WKBD style. Before it is IMO the best animated commercial ever made - for Candilicious (More then you can chew). I was amazed when I came across this tape today. As a bonus, the telecine guy goofed and shut off the projector early, so the cartoon "flutters" out at the last scene.

and finally - I'm amazed to see that the KFS Popeye cartoon got more hits than any other one. So - here is a WXON broadcast of what I think is the BEST KFS Popeye of the lot. It's a Paramount cartoon that I think is better than the last of their theatricals. But first, a young Fred Savage has to tell us about pollution reduction...

WKBD had a thing for lumping things together that didn't mesh too well with the edits! Also evident of the Casper cartoon that's linked below. Funny they would also cut out the MGM logo at the opening.

Didn't even have time to throw up the ID or such in the process!

Kinda like the promo at the middle talking about "Alvin & The Chipmunks", since I think what they showed instead was the much-better "Alvin Show" series I grew up on! I wan't someone to put out a DVD box right now!

You don't see ads like that anymore. The animation kinda reminded me of something Sally Cruikshank could've drawn.

That's cute! Just like at school! Being reminded of the times teachers would pull that BS to stop a film early and go on with whatever they wanted.

Kinda wanted to regret seeing the Casper cartoons on WKBD since they never showed the Harvey Films logo! Just didn't seem right not to show that!

Still they all look the same to me! Being reminded of when WTOL in Toledo used to show those Popeyes on "Patches & Pockets" in the early 80's. Kinda like seeing the promo afterwards for "Merrie Melodies" (I think WUPW also showed that as well).

Still, thinking of things WKBD could've showed instead of chopping up their library for those last four minutes, here's a nice alternative that wasn't suggested before...
