I just recorded an Ant and Aardvark episode from Boomerang UK, and noticed DVNR as usual. However, I already have this particular cartoon (I've got Ants in my Plans) recorded from Boomerang UK, and for some reason the DVNR on the more recent recording is less severe! When the picture shakes, the earlier recording had a lot of the colors misplaced due to DVNR. On the more recent recording, on the same scenes, the lines disappear but the colors aren't misplaced!
I didn't have the DVD recorder or Sky box set up any differently than before, which leads me to think that the DVNR is actually applied to Boomerang's broadcast feed - rather to their broadcast recordings! I doubt Boomerang have multiple copies of the same cartoons with different DVNR in their library...
Have you ever heard of a TV network applying DVNR to its actual broadcast feed rather than the cartoons themselves? Or is something screwy going on with their feed (or my satellite reception)?
