Region 2 fans - LTGCv3

I got a reply back from Warner Home Video (UK) saying that they are still looking into a UK release date for LTGCv3, but as yet no decision has been made.

I guess that means they're not going to...:shame:

Well, in Norway the LTGCs have been released as separate discs, and the vol. 3-discs will be released pretty soon

Here's the current release schedule in Norway:
May 24th:
- The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner movie
- 1001 Rabbit Tales

June 21st:
- Best of Bugs Bunny, vol. 3
- Best of Porky, vol. 2
- All stars, vol. 4

I assume these discs are disc 1, 3 and 4 from LTGC3, repectively, and that disc 2 (“Hollywood Caricatures and Parodies”) won't be released here.

Hang on... I just noticed that LTGC vol. 1 was apparently released in Norway in March. That's nice. The single disc releases are hideous (although the contents of the discs are the same, of course)

BTW: I'm a little bit unsure if all four discs from LTGC vol. 2 was released here. Vol. 2 includes Bugs vol. 2, Road Runner and friends, Tweety and friends, and the musical disc. Bugs, Road Runner and Tweety has been released for sure, and I've seen an "All stars, vol. 3" listed, but I'm not sure if this is the musical disc, or if it's the Road Runner or Tweety disc.

Hmm. I'll have to correct myself a bit here. The store that listed LTGC vol. 1 as released in March, also lists LTGC vol. 2 and vol. 3, also with release date March 2006. All titles were added to their store in November 2005. Since I haven't seen any of these titles listed in any official release plans, I'm inclined to believe that the store is wrong.

Anyway - All four discs from vol. 2 was definately released in Norway last year. "All Stars vol. 3" is disc four from LTGC vol. 2. So this is the first time a complete LTGC-set is not available as single discs in Norway.

How is PAL handled on the Region 2 versions of LTGC? (I only have the American versions, although I'm in Finland.) Do they take advantage of the higher resolution of PAL? I'm asking because the Disney Treasures, disappointingly, do not do that; they windowbox a 650x520 sized image inside the 720x576 PAL frame, giving slightly worse image resolution than the 720x480 of NTSC, even though PAL is capable of better. (At least Mickey Mouse in Living Colour [sic] is like that, I own the others in their American verions.) I found that a little odd, and am curious whether LTGC handles PAL properly.

I don't know about your case except by my setup everything looks beautiful:). Perhaps it is a function of either your TV (mine is the german Loewe - a tube TV) or your DVD Player (mine is XORO).
