Both cartoons need to be a part of LTGC volume 5 now that the original titles have been found. I know Scarlet Pumpernickel has been released on DVD as a blue ribbon, but it should be on a future LTGC with original titles.

I'll concede "Doggone Cats", but I don't think Warner needs to double-dip these collections for "The Scarlet Pumpernickel". I mean, if all the Blue Ribbons were re-released on DVD once their original titles were found, people would surely get tired of buying the same cartoons twice.

Yes. They can hold on to these for when they re-release this stuff all over again in HD format a few years from now (probably).

I was under the impression that the titles for "The Scarlett Pumpernickel" were known about prior to its first restoration and release (UCLA supposedly has a copy), but were simply not used since the credits in the BR version were still intact. It seems they only restore the titles on video if it was a pre 1957 blue ribbon reissue where all the credits were removed.

Could be, but Jerry Beck said that even a BR with credits would be restored if a print could be found.

I went to this sandwich place for lunch with my girlfriend yesterday afternoon, and on the menu... Scarlett Pumpernickle! :)

It was at this Montreal coffeee/sanwich/lunch chain, Java U.

I ordered one, of course.

Could someone pass the news on to Jerry Beck about Thad's print of Doggone Cats?

Jerry already knows about my print and that Warners is welcome to use it whenever that time may be. Please don't think I'd let something like this slip past his knowledge!

I find it rather odd that The Scarlet Pumpernickel's Looney Tunes opening had redish rings even though it was a 1950 cartoon (when WB was using green rings).

The rings are green, they're just red in the clip because of Eastman fading.

And how.... it took me a few minutes to see how those things could ever have been close to green, but you're right.

Just making sure. I just hope it's in time for volume 4 of LTGC. We won't know until July.
