A few days ago, I was at a flea market, and I found an old public domain video featuring All This and Rabbit Stew. Now I have finally watched one of the censored eleven.

All This and Rabbit Stew was an interesting cartoon. It was a bit funny how the skunk was used a few times (were they borrowing a gag from A Wild Hare?). The log scene in this cartoon is interesting, as the hunter actually fell, while whenever this gag was done with Elmer Fudd, Elmer would either get back on ground without falling (The Big Snooze) or a conclusion wouldn't be shown (Person to Bunny).

I saw that cartoon once before on a "50 of the Greatest Cartoons" video I once owned.

Very funny stuff. The same thing could've easily been done with Elmer. I especially loved the ending:

I'm gunna ketch me a wabbit...heh-heh-heh-heh, heh-heh, heh-heh, heh-heh! :bugs2:

I've got a rather muddy copy of this cartoon on a traded tape I received from Philo & Gunge two years ago. Funny stuff - certainly one of the best Bugs cartoons of the Avery years. I must agree with Semaj that the ending is hilarious.

Well, Tex Avery only directed four Bugs cartoons (A Wild Hare, Tortose beats Hare, The Heckling Hare, and this one). Bugs also made a cameo in one other Avery cartoon, but I forget the title of that one.

Yes, but other Bugs cartoons were made by other directors during Avery's tenure. And this one far outstrips such efforts from that period as "Elmer's Pet Rabbit", "Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt", and even Avery's own "Tortoise Beats Hare".

Bugs also made a cameo in one other Avery cartoon, but I forget the title of that one.

You're probably thinking of 1942's "Crazy Cruise", in which Bugs appears at the very end, helping a squadron of bunnies shoot down a Japanese vulture. Avery left Warner Bros. before the cartoon was completed, however, and Bob Clampett's unit finished it up.
