Thad just posted the original opening to "Doggone Cats" over on his blog. :sylvester

He also has a look at the original opening to "The Scarlet Pumpernickel" among the past postings (complete with Daffy head shot). :daffy:
Go check it out.

Interesting that they list Scott as "Bill", other cartoons list him as William.

Thad,
do you own other classic cartoons with original titles?
Like early openings for the Tom and Jerry ones, or Merrie Melodies/Looney Tunes of the 30s/40s....

I have a question:
Is the opening music to DOGGONE CATS unique, or was it also used on other cartoons?
OK, I give up...
What kind of online videos are those, and what do I need to view them?
Nothing happens when I move the cursor over them.
(Mac OS 9, btw)

(Mac OS 9, btw)You won't be able to see them. You need Windows Media Player 10.

Great work on posting those for us Thad! :sylvester

I can get them on my old computer which is also OS 9 (they don't require Windows Media Player). They are shockwave Flash files.

In case other Mac users are interested... I did get it to play by re-installing Flash Player 7... I sorta routinely upgrade players when I encounter the need online... but ever since I found that YouTube site, it seems I have to re-install Flash Player 7 every time I launch my browser (Netscape) to access YT... no biggie -- maybe the problem will go away once I install OSX (soon).
More importantly, Thad just uploaded that whacked-out skat dance from Hot Cross Bunny... that is just plain ol' laff-out-loud funny!

If you don't mind my asking Thad, how did you acquire this original "Doggone Cats" print? I remember Mr. Beck telling once that he'd found another original print he wanted to use in the Golden Collections, but the collector was fearful of letting his unique artifact go into Warner's possession.

It works on my eMac with OS X 10.3 running Firefox v1.5, though some of the videos do seem slow to load on wireless broadband (my big problem is trying to run the XM radio pop-up player on this computer using Firefox -- I've got to do that in the annoying Safari browser, since the Windows Media Player for Mac doesn't support the XM radio player option).

I won it on eBay. The same seller had an original print of Daffy Dilly but I was outbid on that one. :(

Gosh!
Could you ask to the one that won this gem to send you screenshots of the title card?
I've been trying to contact the guy who won it for almost a year (it's quite possibly my favorite Chuck Jones Daffy Duck cartoon). According to a friend, the new owner runs some sort of archival moviehouse. It's apparent he doesn't like to share. What a shame!

By the way, I'll probably have, as an Happy Easter present, a dvd expecially-made for me, from my dear friend, the mysterious italian film prints collector I already told you about in the past months.
For Christmas he gave me terrific copies of the "Censored Eleven".
For Easter is going to give me a dvd full of assorted treasures.
And I'll share screenshots with you, guys!
Right on my blog, of course!

Thad and Jon, I suggest telling Jerry Beck about Doggone Cats. Maybe it's not too late to get that added to volume 4 for LTGC.
