I've been going through the Gemstone "Mickey & Friends" comics and there appears to be a bit of a controversey going on in the letter columns. Apparently the folks and Gemstone and the folks at Disney no longer like using the name "Mouston" as Mickey's hometown. Disney likes "Toon Town" and Gemstone has lumped Mickey's gang into "Duckberg" a few times. Which name do you prefer? (I've thrown some new names in the mix just for fun...). :mickey:

I think it should be Mouston. Mickey should not reside in Duckburg.

Hey Jon!
I like Vermin Valley too, but I've got news— since the time that letter column was published, "Mouseton" was used in a couple of issues this Spring.

Perhaps Mouseton sits in the Vermin Valley of Mousouri county. Rat's Nest sounds like a seedy bar located in Mouseton and Rodentville could be a subdivision.
IMO, I find Toon Town inappropriate for the comics because it takes you out of the world the characters live in.

What about "Mousachusetts" or "Moussissippi"?
I know it's an Egmont standard, but it makes no sense for Mickey's gang to reside in Duckburg if they don't regularly associate with the Duck family (and I know how they hate 'universe' crossovers...).

I liked Javeman's "Mousachusetts" myself. :p

Mousetropolis. Its sounds cool, and very futuristic. Besides, Mickey would go far there.

I like "Toon Town"; It's not just for mice, but for all the other species of toons! :D

I agree that Mickey shouldn't live in Duckburg since he has very little relation to the Duck family other than being friends with Donald. I'm perfectly happy with Mouston. Toontown is debatable because it would exist in the so called real world where humans & toon co-exist, or you could have Mickey living in Mouston in Disney's anthropromorphic universe.

Mouston! ("Mousetropolis"? No way. Next thing you know, Mickey would be buff in multi-colored tights & cape and calling himself Sup*rmouse, and he's already been through enough silly mutations in the recent Gemstone comics!)
(Not to mention that he'd thereby make himself twice actionable...)

I like Toon Town the best it just sounds nicer and you don't have just mice in the nieghborhood.
Mouslyvania comes in at a close second though.

Hey, I have an idea! What if Mous(e)ton and Duckburg are both cities in Toon Town.

Those IMDb posts bring up an interesting topic - what does Toontown look like now in 2004?

Toon Town, it's not much of a challenge.
Since the fate of Mickey's hometown name has been decided (but mostly due to the fact that people are replying to a thread not knowing it's about Mickey's COMICS), this thread his closed...
As for Toon Town being his name.... Good lord..... All I think of when I hear that is Roger Rabbit, with zany characters running around and talking inanimate objects...
