I used a bad choice of words here. I was referring to the recent acquisition of Oswald by Disney.

Oh, I know! I was just jokingly bragging on behalf of all of us who were Oswald fans before the fever started!

My favorite Oswald cartoon is the one where he gets the silly idea to pose for pictures in his backyard with his wacky bolt-action rifle.

The reality is that all copies of Bright Lights will be in terrible shape because they originate from the same nitrate print. If anyone finds a good 16mm at an estate sale, please, call my cell! :D

A restored 35mm print of "Bright Lights" survives at the LOC and from what i've heard, that the restoration looks like if this short was just made.(LOL)It's safe to say that we all have a terrible copy of "Bright Lights", since you can't see half of the picture due to nitrate decompoison.

But here are my favorite Oswald shorts through each of the three studios.

DISNEY:
Trolley Troubles
The Fox Hunt
Bright Lights
Oh! What A Knight

WINKLER:
Jungle Jingles
Weary Willies
Yanky Clippers

LANTZ:
Permanent Wave
Mexico
The Hash Shop
Alaska
Hell's Heels
Chili Con Carmen
The Bandmaster
The Mechcanical Man
Conifdence

P.S.
Sometime next week, I'll be getting a "new" Winkler/Oswald short on dvd...."ALPINE ANTICS"(1929) YES!, YES!, YES!Toon Heaven:rabbit: :rabbit: :rabbit:
