Rather than revive the thread about "animator's quirks" (good observations about Jones' pixie-eyes, Kneitel putting cheeks on Popeye, etc.) I'll just slap this up here...
The Disney studio went through a phase of drawing little children as if their upper lips were parrot beaks. Seems to have been prevalent in "Peter Pan" but it also showed up elsewhere.
The example I've attached is from the short, "A COWBOY NEEDS A HORSE" that has been in heavy rotation at our house, owing to my 2 year old daughter's obsession with it.
For what it's worth...

Craig, I haven't noticed the parrot beak thing in Peter Pan... Any particular spots where it's prevalent?

Hmm... maybe I should re-watch P. Pan and see if I can find any specific examples there. The "Following the Leader" song maybe? If I am able to, I'll come back and update my original post. (And of course, it's entirely possible I'm wrong!)
You haven't, by any chance, seen PETER PAN lately, have you Thad? ;)

I may have watched it at least once at some point recently... ;)

For some reason I always associated those cheek lines with Ward Kimball for some reason... probably Jiminy Cricket.
Another quirk I've noticed in Disney cartoons is that in many scenes where a character is playing a piano, at some point he hits a key with an extended index finger (as if he were pointing at it). Anyone know where this comes from?
