Yep, that's right!!! In a sign of orders from the top, CBS announced today that it is formally putting the Paramount theme parks up for sale... Keep in mind that the theme parks were the core of Sumner Redstone's empire from days of old. Sooooo the twins born of the late Viacom begin to diverge ever more (new Viacom grows bigger with purchase of Dreamworks, CBS grows smaller with sale of parks).

I live near Kings Dominion in central VA. It is amazing how much the park has changed for the worst over the years.

I remember the last time I've been to King's Dominion (way back in '98) and I hardly recognized the place. Yogi's Cave and just about everything I remember back when I was a kid was gone. Everything was all Nickelodeonified. And it was no longer the King's Dominion I remembered and loved. It felt all corporate and weird. And I haven't been there since.

98 might have been the last time I was there too. At the time I would have been 9 or ten so the Nickelodeon part was fine with me then, but then I remember how more fun it was in 94 and 95 and I don't get how I enjoyed it.

Funny, I was there last summer and we had a great time. But, we didn't spend any time in the kids' part.
