With all the recent news about Disney buying Pixar, and the fact that Pixar is now a household name in family entertainment, many people forget that Pixar was once an animation studio producing 4 minute shorts that were shown in festivals and theatres.

I would be interesting to know what people here think of these shorts, and which one is their favourite. My favourite is probably "Knick Knick", which was quite Chuck Jones-esque and had great catchy music by Bobby McFerrin. "Tin Toy" and "Geri's Game" are also very funny and clever shorts too.

I like all the ones I've seen so far except Boundin'. I went with Jack Jack Attack, but that's probably due to it's being tied in to a feature film that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I haven't seen 'em all, But I've liked all I've seen. I went with "Kick-Knack" for the same reasons as Nick (not Nack).

By the way, I saw the Pixar exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art. Very nice, very impressive. What struck me was how much of the concept art, designs, storyboards, test reels, etc etc are hand drawn or painted; the computer stuff comes along much further down the line. So even in these CGI films, the mind and heart and soul still comes from someone scraping a pencil across a sheet of paper.
