Well , even if I was not lucky enough to be here on time , I have to say that is a great idea to use title cards ( and , too bad for me , I would have guessed them all because I own all them cartoons ! )

How do you even know you've missed your chance? The contest is still open until Dec. 26.

I think a special contest should be held just for our friends in the east with differing time zones. Also maybe the top correct answers should start being selected at random, this way you don't have to break your neck to enter. Thanks for listening.:bosko:

That's not going to happen. Jon is doing these contests for fun and out of his own time and money, so why should the contestants get to dictate the rules and regulations? Selecting winners at random is also unfair to those who WERE around to submit their entry first.

I know that these events are privileges and I'm very grateful to Jon's kindness I just felt bad for Duck Dodgers and others who so badly wanted to be there when it first happened. I guess pop surprise contests are the way to go though without annoucements.:speedy: :beepbeep: :beepbeep: :speedy:

Oh , don't worry for me ! I understand John 's point . He is absolutely right !

Next time I 'll try my best to be here in time !:)

Anyway , the idea to give the correct time in which the contest will be posted is not so bad .

That's what our Jerry Beck usually does when he posts a contest on Cartoon Brew . Same thing was done by our Steve Stanchfield when he posted contests at the Animation History forum ( I won my " Aesop's Fables " dvd that way ! Thanks again , Steve ! ) .

Mine is just an idea . It's logic that you moderators can do whatever you want . We only have to thank you for the possibility to have a contest .

And , again , I'm amazed by the fact that the prizes were absolutely wonderful ones . You made great choices !

Just to clarify I was speaking of holding a special contest just for our foreign friends outside of the Americas. I didn't want anyone to think I was reffering to the East Coast commonly known here (New York, Atlanta, Florida, etc.).:sylvester

No chance of that happening, but I do agree with your suggestion of choosing winners at random. My main concern is that the current system of choosing winners could potentially put some of us off from entering. Also, the different time zones is another problem.

I disagree that the contestants are dictating the rules and regulations! People are giving suggestions. The contestants are scattered over many, many time zones. It appears that Jon is doing the right thing. A problem is it is not fair for people who are many time zones away. It means they might have to stay up very late OR get up very early and hope things will happen. Very fair in this case is selecting winners at random irregardless of the time they enterred if there are more people with the correct answers than prizes. This appears to be the current case. It is up to Jon how to choose the winners if there are ties. I am sure that he will choose a fair-to-all way.

That's what our Jerry Beck usually does when he posts a contest on Cartoon Brew . Same thing was done by our Steve Stanchfield when he posted contests at the Animation History forum

Another way is first come- first served. In this case a time should be given. I don't wish to anger anyone because it should be Jon to decide the best and fairest way, In the current case it seems to be OK.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have decided to give out a 4th place prize to one RANDOM person. It will be a Hanna-Barbera DVD set of my choice.
