Attached is a seasonal blast from seasons very past.
For all you "hardcores" on the forum, who can you identify? and circa...?

Happy Holidays

I can pick out Mel Blanc, Leon Schlesinger, Tex Avery, Frank Tashlin, Chuck Jons, Friz Freleng, Bob Clampett, Henry Binder, Mike Maltese, and John McGrew. The rest I need help with. :o

It's drawn by T. (Thornton) Hee, for Christmas of 1936. I have an identical one that Bob Clampett annotated (and partly colored) for a friend at another studio back then. Guess it wouldn't be fair of me throw in my two-cents worth...:p

This Christmas-caricature card though complements/supplements the whole studio portrait taken six months earlier.

Well, that's more than I can identify. Probably we'll all find out more very soon.

Thanks for the information. My intention wasn't to make it a "contest" contest (for lack of a better phrase.) But for those who enjoy or feel like doing their own guessing/sleuthing, maybe in a few days or so you can fill in any blanks.
Is the initial actual studio portrait anywhere online for those who'd like to view it?

Well here are my IDs:

Front row (l-R) - ?, Leon Schlesinger, Ray Katz, Henry Binder, Friz Freleng, Tex Avery.
- Melvin Millar (with pipe above Avery)
- Ken Harris (Above and to left of Millar, with overbite)
- Cal Dalton (Facing Harris)
- Bob Clampett (back row, 4th from the left)
- Paul J. Smith (Third row, second from the left)
- Carl Stalling (Back row, 6th from the left)
- John Burton (Between Clampett and Stalling)

And the ones I'm not sure about:
- Bob Cannon (above Schlesinger, with large glasses)
- Mike Sassanoff (facing Stalling)

The guy in the second row all the way to the left appears to be Smokey Garner.

Nooooo the studio portrait isn't anywhere online... Nor has it been published although ironically it was given to a publisher:p back in 1936 by Schlesinger! And it resides now with lil ol' moi:D... Right along with Clampett's version of this Christmas card, the 1932 Mintz whole studio portrait, a copy of the Terrytoons portrait etc.

Now as far as the i.d.'s go so far... This was made in 1936 sooooo neither Mel Blanc, Michael Maltese nor Mike Sasanoff are in the picture because they weren't yet "in the picture":D at the Schlesinger studio. Bob Cannon IS in the picture but NOT directly above Leon.

:DI'll give ya all the full order of the first row... T.Hee has carefully placed the MOST IMPORTANT people in the studio in the front row, so there in the center you DO have the bosses (Schlesinger, Ray Katz, and Henry Binder) plus young-master directors Tex Avery and Friz Freleng... Conspicuously absent from the front row is director Frank Tashlin (likely tells us a little something about Hee's view of Tash at that point in time).
Alright then, so who's the guy in the left corner of the front row?!?! None other than T. Hee himself (look close he's even shown that his caricature is pointing to everyone in the the picture, may have originally been a pencil in his hand.)

It would be kinda cute to see blow-up prints of this for sale, I'd buy one for my room!

I believe the guy with light hair and long nose standing next to Ken Harris (3rd row, 4th from the right) is Norman McCabe.

Some guesses, good, bad and indifferent:

1st Row – all pretty easy.

2nd Row: #2 is Smoky Garner, #5 is Cal Howard (blonde hair and glasses), #6 is Bugs Hardaway, #9 is Tubby Millar.

Top Row: #4 Bob Clampett, #5 Johnny Burton, #6 Carl Stalling, #9 Frank Tashlin

Assuming the group between the 2nd Row and the top Row is a 3rd Row: #3 Chuck Jones (Clampett’s chin touching his head), #6 Bob Cannon, #8 Ken Harris.

Tim,
It's been several days since anyone has attempted to identify any more Schlesinger staff -- so it's "fair...to throw in your two-cents worth." If it's not too much trouble, how about giving us a complete rundown of who's who from your own annotated copy? Thanks.
