I just read the TV schedules for Christmas Eve/Day at Zap2it. My local NBC station is airing a special after the 10:00pm (Central) news called "A Classic Christmas." Its apparently one hour long. Here is what the description says:

"Yuletide cartoons from the golden age of animation, the 1930s through '50s, feature animation work of the Fleischers, Van Beuren, Halas & Batchelor, and Warner Bros."

I dunno if its an NBC network special or a syndicated one. I need to check another NBC station schedule to confirm.

UPDATE: Yes, its Syndicated. It could show up anywhere, so check your local TV schedules on weekends and Christmas Eve.

Interesting (even though it sounds like a compilation of PD material). I just checked my listings and in Maine, it's airing on CBS affiliate WGME on Dec 17 at 12:30pm (I won't be able to catch it, though).

This came on last year and I recored it. The program is presented in a Toonheads-like format with narration and trivia and consists of public domain toons. I did not see any Van Beuren, Halas and Bachlor, nor WB titles in it but what I do remember seeing is the P.A. Powers/Celebrity Ub Iwerk's ComiColor JACK FROST (I don't have to worry, I don't have to care [annoying little bear]), some Famous Noveltoons, and Fleicsher's Christmas Comes But Once a Year starring Betty Boop's Grampy (Ruby Goldburg inventions at some of their best).:daffy: :bosko: :felix:
